Chuc mung nam moi! With holidays comes family gatherings, and with gatherings comes yummy eats. Here’s a replay of my tet in pictures.
Banh bot loc – rice paste with pork and shrimp filling. Peel banana leaf away and eat the inside. Do not eat the leaf like my husband did the first time he ate this.
Summer rolls – shrimp, pork, and veggies rolled in rice paper.
Henry’s pho… so good.
Banh chung – vietnamese rice cake with mung bean and pork filling. My mom gave me some to bring home because none of us had any room after all the food above. So when I finally broke into my portion, I fried it (no oil, just in a nonstick pan) and devoured it with pickled leeks and cha (vietnamese pork, similar to deli meat).
I’m so blessed to have such a great family and friends. Wishing you all a wonderful new year full of health, happiness, and good food.
Better late than never—chuc mung nam moi! Your Tet spread looks delectable, especially the banh bot loc.
